Klára Kolouchová made history by summiting Everest, K2, and Kangchenjunga. She became the first Czech woman to climb the world’s three highest mountains. But in July 2025, her expedition to Nanga Parbat ended in tragedy.
At around 23,300 feet (7,100 meters), Klára began feeling unwell and decided to abandon her summit attempt. During the descent, she suffered a serious fall on rocky terrain near Camp 2.
Her guide witnessed the accident but was unable to help her. She was 46 years old. Her husband was waiting at base camp, while their two children were back home.
This documentary retraces Klára Kolouchová’s climbing career, her major ascents, the controversies surrounding her K2 summit, and the circumstances of her final expedition to Nanga Parbat.
