In 1675, the Kashmiri Pandits came to Sri Guru Sahib, and pleaded for their lives and protection for their religious beliefs from the Moghul Empire, In that century there was heavy presence on persecution or be forced accept Islamic conversions. Guru Sahib gave up his Gurgadhi (Throne) at the plea of the Kashmiri Pandits and his young son Sri Gobind Rai, (later years grew up to become the 10th Patasha, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji) "who else is better than you to stand up for the Freedom and Rights of every human being" Gobind Rai said to his Father at a tender age. So, Sri Guru Sahib did just that and he was beheaded at the orders of Aurangzeb in Chandni Chowk, located in Delhi. Today, this Gurudwara is known as Sis Ganj Sahib where Sri Guru Sahib was executed. Rakab Ganj Sahib is another Gurudwara, also located in Delhi where the headless body of Sri Guru Sahib was cremated.
