Good morning folks. Here’s a short video about my pre MS-Series Blues Harp from Hohner. When I was learning harmonica in the 80’s these were available at my local K-Mart music section for about $10. All these are is a Marine Band comb and reeds, with sleek closed vent Blues Harp cover plates. Something about these harps made them so easy to bend notes on. If I could buy these new today I’d likely play nothing but. I’m not sure when Hohner introduced the MS-Series, which are a group of harps they make that you can trade pieces with (Blues Harp, Pro Harp, Big River Harp) Pro Harps used to be a Special 20 with black cover plates and the Big River Harp has always stood on its own and is an excellent 2nd tier harp. I guess that’s why I’m sad they changed up the old models…the combs for these were Marine Band with Marine Band reeds. The MS reeds aren’t nearly as responsive.
