Hindi Debate Speech Competition | Mahek Raj

क्या उच्च शिक्षा का माध्यम हमारी भाषा हो सकती है? क्या भारतीय भाषाओं में शिक्षा वास्तव में ज्ञान को अधिक लोगों तक पहुँचा सकती है? These are not merely questions about language. They are questions about access, opportunity, identity, equality and the future of education in India. Presenting my Hindi debate speech from the Maharaja Sayajirao Debate Competition 2026 – Semi-Final Round, organised by the Hindi Department, Faculty of Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, in collaboration with Bank of Baroda. The topic: “क्या भारतीय भाषाओं में उच्च शिक्षा से ज्ञान का लोकतंत्रीकरण होगा?” Through this speech, I explore the relationship between language and education, the accessibility of knowledge, and the possibilities of making higher education more inclusive without overlooking the importance of multilingualism and global communication. I believe that knowledge should never become inaccessible simply because someone does not speak a particular language. This is a small contribution to a much larger conversation about the kind of educational future we want for India. Thank you for being here and listening.
