Our getaway to Da Nang from September 1st to 4th, 2026, was an unforgettable mix of stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and delicious dining. Nestled along Vietnam’s central coast, Da Nang offered the perfect balance between coastal relaxation and mountaintop thrills. We kicked off our adventure to Sun World Ba Na Hills. Reaching this mountain resort was an experience in itself, thanks to the world-record-breaking cable car ride that swept us high above misty forests and cascading waterfalls. At the top, the iconic Golden Bridge stole the show—walking across the giant stone hands cradling the walkway felt like stepping straight into a fantasy world. Beyond the bridge, Ba Na Hills was packed with energy, featuring lively street performances, European-inspired architecture, and an incredible spread at Bharatta Restaurant. Exploring the local culinary scene was wonderfully hassle-free, thanks to Da Nang's welcoming variety of Halal options. We enjoyed delicious, satisfying meals at Kampung Melayu, Indraputra, and Abdul Karim, each serving authentic flavours that kept us energised throughout our sightseeing packed days. For shopping, Hoi An Ancient Town was an absolute dream. Strolling through the lantern-lit streets, browsing tailor shops, and picking up unique local souvenirs offered a charming, atmospheric retail experience you simply cannot replicate anywhere else. On the flip side, if there is one place tourists should skip entirely, it is Han Market. What is often advertised as a bustling local hub quickly turns into a crowded, overwhelming, and frustrating experience. The aggressive vendors, cramped aisles, relentless pushiness, and inflated prices make shopping there unnecessarily stressful. Travelers are far better off spending their time and money enjoying the relaxed, honest boutiques in Hoi An instead. From high-altitude wonders to golden beaches and vibrant night markets, Da Nang proved to be a magnificent destination that left us with memories to last a lifetime.
