Anoushka Shankar - Those Words ft. Shilpa Rao, Ayanna Witter-Johnson

Those Words is taken from Love Letters – out now via Mercury KX. https://mkx.lnk.to/ASLoveLettersID Anoushka says: ´It all started with Jamaican food. Cellist Ayanna Witter-Johnson came over with an open heart, a secret recipe and the seed of a new melody, which I tended and helped grow. We wrote a poem about memories, loss, and nostalgic words. Shirin Anandita took our original poem and helped it evolve into beautiful Punjabi lyrics of her own. Finally, Shilpa Rao shared her gorgeous voice with us to bring those lyrics to life. ´ Video credits: Vocals: Shilpa Rao Sitar: Anoushka Shankar Cello: Ayanna Witter-Johnson Dancers: Guro Nagelhus Schia and Vebjørn Sundby “Those Words” written by Anoushka Shankar, Ayanna Witter-Johnson with lyrics by Shirin Anandita Video directed by: Anoushka Shankar Video edited by: Nicola Cavalazzi Shot on phones during lockdown in London, Mumbai and Oslo
