Pirates Of The Caribbean (Post-2006 version) | Magic Kingdom | Walt Disney World

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me... In 2003, the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" arrived, and proved to be the most successful movie/movie franchise based on a Disney Park attraction. For some reason, Disney felt they needed an existing attraction/movie tie-in and gave us such treasures like "The Country Bears". (Though the latest iteration of Haunted Mansion wasn't bad, lol.) There were more than a few scenes from the attraction that made it into their depiction of Tortuga, though the attraction in Magic Kingdom is supposed to be Puerto Rico. In 2006, Pirates was refurbished, and in sort of a reverse provenance, Jack Sparrow (with an appearance by Davy Jones and Barbossa) made their way from the screen, into the attraction. Huh. It's a circle of life kinda thing... (And I have to say, the Sparrow animatronic is so realistic that it's kinda spooky, lol.) This video was taped in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, because timing and being in the right place in the boat is everything. There's also a short clip from 2001, the missing talking skull and crossbones. It's still a bit grainy, though it's pretty good for those tiny CCD sensors in consumer video cameras back then.
