freaks.

ultimately, we're all just a bunch of freaks arent we? im 15, it's my first time using visual arts to explore ideas of perception, perspective, and shared identity. to me, it spoke about the strange, overwhelming agony of being seen and unseen all at once. in my mind, the colourful eyes in the very beginning portrayed a simple idea: they represented different perspectives. they change colour, size, but they essentially remain the same eyes. we live in a world where we aren't afraid of losing ourselves anymore because we don't even notice it happening. i tried to bring about the idea that we, as humans, as freaks, all belong to the same origin. each eye is burdened with their own isolated weight. each eye bleeds from restricting the tears for too long. each eye bleeds through perspectives and different shades of itself, each eye exhausted in a completely disconnected world. a mechanical world. as a person, i believe in hope, new beginnings and perspectives. to another way to see, and perhaps another way to be seen. maybe there isn’t really one way to see the world. maybe we’re all just freaks, looking at it through our own eyes.
