Deeply Armed - Black Ice (Official Video)

Following the release of acclaimed debut single The Healing and a series of sold-out shows across Belfast, London, Glasgow and Todmorden's Golden Lion, Deeply Armed returned with Black Ice. Marrying post-Kraut swagger with dub-heavy intensity, Black Ice presents the band at their most confrontational. Where The Healing explored euphoria and optimism, Black Ice is its flip: a bass-heavy soundtrack to truth, trust and resurgence, propelled by Michael McKeown's hypnotic vocal and a haunting guest performance from Marion Jordan. The 12" vinyl and digital release features the original recording alongside two exclusive remixes. Under his extnddntwrk alias, Andrew Fearn of Sleaford Mods deconstructs the track into a swirl of modular electronics and fractured rhythms, while dub legend Mad Professor delivers an intense live dub mix created at the legendary Ariwa Studios, one of dub music's most influential recording spaces. As award-winning author David Keenan wrote: "Mad Professor – a central totemic influence on the band – cuts an intense live mix of the track that marries dub science with psychedelic alchemy..." All tracks were mastered by Keith Tenniswood (Radioactive Man/2 Lone Swordsmen). The distinctive 12" sleeve image was captured by award-winning photographer Megan Doherty. Since release, Black Ice has received support from multi-award-winning producer, DJ and composer David Holmes, XFM Radio's John Kennedy and producer Keith Tenniswood, alongside airplay on NTS Radio and support from independent record shops across the UK and Europe.
