Once again sporting the Golden Arrow regalia, this time to mark the 65th anniversary of the last Steam Hauled Golden Arrow service on 11th June 1961, 35028 Clan Line would once again take on the Kent circuit with the British Pullman stock.
After a few weeks of warm sunshine and even a high fire risk at one point, it was inevitable the weather would change and so it proved, with the day in question forecast for endless rain. As such, location choices were made based on suitable shelter, but did at least mean there would be no risk of the engine starting any lineside fires.
The first location, on the outward journey to Dover, would be captured at Ravensbourne, where as luck would have it, Clan Line passed during a gap in the clouds resulting in the engine being captured in sunshine, sounding excellent as she digs into the climb towards Bromley. Less than 10 minutes later, it started raining again. This rain would stay for most of the day and was still somewhat present come the return journey, which sees Clan Line at Crofton Park station, a route she only takes on these Saturday workings, with the weekday tours always returning via Penge East. The engine would be captured powering along nicely on the uphill grade to Nunhead as she nears the end of her journey to the capital.
