Warbonnet RidgeRunner Bridge Hammock – Review, Setup & Real-World Testing After becoming a hammock camper with my Haven, I started looking for something a little lighter and more backpacking-friendly. That's when I discovered the Warbonnet RidgeRunner bridge hammock. I found a used RidgeRunner on GearTrade, picked up a 20°F Warbonnet Lynx underquilt and an underquilt protector, and started experimenting! In this video, I'll share my first impressions, some overnight camping experiences, and a step-by-step look at how I set up the RidgeRunner, including the suspension, spreader bars, bug net, underquilt, and underquilt protector. I'll also cover what I like (and don't like) about this hammock, including: The comfortable, relatively flat sleeping position Those awesome built-in side storage pockets How stable it actually feels Using a foam sleeping pad instead of an underquilt Why the foot end drives me a little crazy! The extra space needed between trees What happens when you forget your underquilt on a cold night Is the RidgeRunner the perfect backpacking hammock? Not quite. But there's a lot to like about it, and I'm still experimenting with what it can do. Join me, Skitter, for a little hammock camping, some trial and error, and a closer look at the Warbonnet RidgeRunner!
