In this vlog, I finally tackle the long-overdue carrot harvest! Since the soil got so compacted, I had to bring out the heavy hoe to pry these roots loose no gentle pulling today. You'll see the good, the bad, and the ugly, including a few over-mature carrots that should have been picked weeks ago. This is the real cost of being a student, a parent, and juggling side hustles to make ends meet; sometimes the garden just has to wait. After the harvest, I show you how I put the carrot greens back into the bed as free mulch, give the roots a good scrub, and store them in water in the fridge to keep them crunchy for weeks. Since we're clearing this bed for new plantings, I also share our next step: excavating pathways and laying stones as ridges to keep things tidy for the future.
