to the Douro Valley revisted in Morgan Plus 8

We thought we would do another Road trip in the Morgan to the Douro Valley Portugal this August (2026) and so took the ferry to Santander. At the start, the weather was not so kind to us so with the hood up we motored down towards Palencia and stopped over night at Monasterio de Zollo just 108 miles south of Santander. The sun and blue skies became our friends for the rest of the trip and for our next stop over we motored onto the Parador de Sanabria in the province of Zamora. This is quite a fascinating town perched high up on hill with a15th century Castle at the top. After two nights then moved down into Portugal to the Douro Royal Valley Hotel for 4 nights ( the outdoor swimming pool has fantastic views of the river and Valley) After our stay it was back to Sanabria for one night then onto Casona de Done Petra hotel in a small hamlet in Villarmentero also for one night. Then moving on to Hotel Infantando Ojedo nr Potes for our final stop over. Potes is must do visit. Just 60 miles then to the ferry at Santander after a few days stay at the Infantando and back to the UK.. The drive through the Picos mountains was a special delight, smooth roads and amazing scenery after a fascinating adventure across Spain and into Portugal ............these are just a few highlights of our journey.....hope you enjoy
