ශ්‍රී ලංකාව ගෝලීය තාක්ෂණයේ සහ දැනුමේ හුදු අනුකාරකයෙක් නොවී, රටේම ප්‍රමුඛතාවලට අනුකූලව විසඳුම් සොයන, ගෝලීය දැනුමට දායක විය හැකි නවෝත්පාදකයෙකු බවට පත්විය යුතුයි. ඒ සඳහා, ශාස්ත්‍රීය නිදහස, අඛණ්ඩතාව සහ සංකීර්ණ ජාතික හා ගෝලීය අභියෝග සඳහා විසඳුම් සෙවීමට ඇති අවංක කැපවීම මත පදනම් වූ ශක්තිමත් පර්යේෂණ සංස්කෘතියක් ගොඩනැගිය යුතුයි. රත්මලාන ජෙනරාල් ශ්‍රීමත් ජෝන් කොතලාවල ආරක්ෂක විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ (KDU) පැවැති 19 වැනි ජාත්‍යන්තර පර්යේෂණ සමුළු⁣වේ (IRC 2026) සමාරම්භක අවස්ථාවට සහභාගී වෙමින් අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය ආචාර්ය හරිනි අමරසූරිය මේ අදහස් පළකළා. இலங்கையானது உலகளாவிய தொழில்நுட்பம் மற்றும் அறிவின் வெறும் போலிப் பின்பற்றுநராக இராது, நாட்டின் முன்னுரிமைகளுக்கு அமைவாகத் தீர்வுகளைக் கண்டறியும், உலகளாவிய அறிவிற்குப் பங்களிப்புச் செய்யக்கூடிய ஒரு புத்தாக்கவியலாளராக மாற்றம் பெற வேண்டும். அதற்கு, கற்றல் சுதந்திரம், நேர்மை மற்றும் சிக்கலான தேசிய, உலகளாவிய சவால்களுக்குத் தீர்வுகளைக் காண்பதற்கான உண்மையான அர்ப்பணிப்பு என்பவற்றின் அடிப்படையில் வலுவான ஆராய்ச்சிக் கலாச்சாரத்தினைக் கட்டியெழுப்ப வேண்டும். இரத்மலானை ஜெனரல் சேர் ஜோன் கொத்தலாவல பாதுகாப்புப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் (KDU) நடைபெற்ற 19ஆவது சர்வதேச ஆராய்ச்சி மாநாட்டின் (IRC 2026) ஆரம்ப நிகழ்வில் கலந்துகொண்டு உரையாற்றும்போதே பிரதமர் கலாநிதி ஹரிணி அமரசூரிய இக்கருத்துக்களைத் தெரிவித்தார். Sri Lanka must move beyond being merely an imitator of global technology and knowledge to becoming an innovator that seeks solutions aligned with the country’s own priorities while contributing to global knowledge. In order to achieve this, we must build a strong research culture based on academic freedom, integrity, and a genuine commitment to finding solutions to complex national and global challenges. Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya made these remarks while participating in the inauguration of the 19th International Research Conference (IRC 2026) held at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) in Ratmalana.
