How to grow Stanhopea oculata; a fabulous cool growing orchid!

This week Plant Lovers I'm THRILLED to have bloomed my first Stanhopea!! Stanhopea oculata to be precise! Turns out it is relatively easy and low maintenance AND can live outdoors all year taking my cool winter night time minimums! So if you can grow Coelogynes and Holcoglossum, you'll be able to grow these in the same place....just with a touch more shade! The flowers on mine lasted a week and had a vaguely spicy vanilla fragrance, but nothing overpowering!
