She Took the Car, I Kept the Guitar – RIFFWARD Band | 80s Hard Rock Music Video

She took the car. He kept the guitar. “She Took the Car, I Kept the Guitar” is an 80s-inspired hard rock music video by RIFFWARD Band. When Patricia leaves, Rafe is left with an empty driveway, a guitar, and a reason to start again. Big riffs, a gritty vocal, and a breakup story with a little humor: sometimes what you keep matters more than what you lose. Which would you choose—the car or the guitar? Tell us in the comments. 🎵 Lyrics: Open She took the car, I kept the guitar! Verse 1 She left a note on the refrigerator door Said, 'I took what was mine and a little bit more' The couch went east, the coffee went south She took the good towels and the words from my mouth I found one boot and a key that won't turn A box full of lessons I was late to learn She took the road map and the old cookie jar She took the car, I kept the guitar Pre-Chorus I gave her plenty of reasons She gave me one clean start She got four wheels and freedom I got six strings and a broken heart Chorus She took the car, I kept the guitar She got the good sense, I got the scars She drove out smiling underneath the stars She took the car, I kept the guitar She got the highway, I got this song Turns out we both knew where we belonged Funny how six strings can take you so far She took the car, I kept the guitar Verse 2 She called at noon from a town out west Said, 'The road looks good and I wish you the best' I said, 'Your rearview mirror left a mark on my pride' She laughed like thunder on the other side No courtroom battle, no poison to pour We were two wrong keys trying one locked door She kept her courage, I kept what was ours A handful of chords and a head full of scars Pre-Chorus I should have heard her sooner When she said love needs truth She found a road worth taking I found a song worth singing to you CHORUS 2 She took the car, I kept the guitar She got the good sense, I got the scars She drove out smiling underneath the stars She took the car, I kept the guitar She got the highway, I got this song Turns out we both knew where we belonged Funny how six strings can take you so far She took the car, I kept the guitar Bridge If I had listened when she said Love cannot live on maybe She might be singing beside me now Instead of three states away from me But every bad ending can open a door She found her road and I found one more No one was stolen, no one was won Two people moved on when the damage was done Breakdown She took the car! Good for her! I kept the guitar! Turn it up! Final Chorus She took the car, I kept the guitar She got the good sense, I got the scars She drove out smiling underneath the stars She took the car, I kept the guitar She got the highway, I got this song Maybe losing right can still move you on Now both of us are finding out who we are She took the car, I kept the guitar Outro She took the car...
