At the Tata Motors plant in Pune, women are taking centre stage on the manufacturing shop floor, challenging long-standing norms in the automotive industry. More than 1,500 women employees operate an all-women assembly line producing premium SUVs such as the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari. Their responsibilities range from heavy lifting and technical assembly to work related to electric vehicle production. According to plant officials, the initiative promotes diversity and inclusivity while helping break the stereotype that manufacturing is a male-dominated field. Employees receive regular training on safety, industry technologies and technical skills, along with mentorship and workplace support. Workers say the experience of building luxury vehicles brings pride and empowerment, while facilities such as transport, security and workplace resources ensure they can focus on their work with confidence. #internationalwomensday #tatamotors #womenempowerment #pune #automotiveindustry #manufacturing #PTINews #PTIVideos #PressTrustOfIndia Subscribe to PTI's YouTube channel for in-depth reports, exclusive interviews, and special visual stories that take you beyond the headlines. #PTIVideos PTI News : ptinews.com PTI Fact Check : ptinews.com/factcheck/factcheck.aspx PTI X (formerly Twitter): https://x.com/PTI_News PTI Instagram:   / ptinews_multimedia   PTI Facebook:   / presstrustofindia
