Riftrose - Haunt Me Properly (Official Lyric Video)

The coat is still on the hook. The second cup of tea has gone cold. And the nerve keeps firing. “Haunt Me Properly” is a new post-hardcore song about the lover who never really leaves — not because they come back, but because your body refuses to file them under “past.” It’s a song about involuntary fidelity: the ache of a limb that isn’t there, the ghost of a hand you still reach for in the dark. Written in British English and performed with a clean/harsh duet, “Haunt Me Properly” moves from the claustrophobic domestic detail of an empty flat to a half-time breakdown where the only thing left to do is scream at the walls. There is no healing arc here. There is only the recognition that some people become part of your nervous system, and the nervous system does not negotiate. This song is for anyone who has ever washed around a mug for three days because throwing it away felt like a second breakup.
