Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 3.22.21
Type: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam
Date: Aug. 10, 1976
Location: Tehran
Speaker: His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda
How can we stay absorbed in Kṛṣṇa when life demands so much work?
In this lecture on Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 3.22.21, Śrīla Prabhupāda speaks about Kardama Muni, who began thinking of Lord Viṣṇu the moment he became silent. He explains that pure devotees are so absorbed in Kṛṣṇa that they are always thinking of Him, even while seeming to act otherwise.
Through the examples of Ambarīṣa Mahārāja, who was a responsible emperor, and of dancers and vendors who balance a pot or basket on the head, he shows that constant remembrance becomes possible with practice. He also explains why we must work in this material world, and how a devotee's work for maintenance is not material.
May his words help us remain Kṛṣṇa conscious in the midst of our duties.
