Delhi SIR 2026 Explained 🇮🇳 | What is happening to Delhi's voter list? The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Delhi's electoral rolls has triggered major discussion after the draft roll showed a large reduction in the number of electors. But two numbers are especially important: 🔴 47.56 lakh — electors whose names did not appear in the draft roll compared with the earlier roll. 🟡 33.13 lakh — electors whose names ARE present in the draft roll but have been flagged for verification under categories such as “No Mapping” and “Logical Discrepancies.” 👉 These two categories should NOT be confused. In this video, we explain: 📌 What exactly is Delhi SIR? 📌 Why is the 2002 electoral roll important? 📌 What does “No Mapping” mean? 📌 What are “Logical Discrepancies”? 📌 What happens after receiving an SIR notice? 📌 How do hearing and document verification work? 📌 Why are Rekha Gupta, Arvind Kejriwal and other prominent electors in the news? 📌 Why has the SIR process become controversial? 📌 What concerns have been raised about transparency, due process and the burden of proof? 📌 What could this mean for ordinary voters? 📌 What safeguards can protect eligible voters while maintaining an accurate electoral roll? The key issue is understanding the difference between verification and exclusion. The Delhi SIR process involves electoral-roll verification, and the final outcome depends on the applicable statutory procedure and decisions of the election authorities. ⚖️ The Supreme Court is also scheduled to hear a challenge concerning aspects of the Delhi SIR on 22 September 2026. The hearing should be distinguished from any final judicial determination on the merits. This video is useful for UPSC, State PCS, SSC, Judiciary, Political Science, Current Affairs and General Awareness preparation. 📚 Topics covered: Delhi SIR 2026 | Electoral Roll Revision | Election Commission | Voter ID | No Mapping | Logical Discrepancy | Electoral Rights | Due Process | Article 324 | Election Law | Indian Polity #DelhiSIR #DelhiVoterList #SIR2026 #VoterID #ElectionCommission #DelhiNews #CurrentAffairs2026 #IndianPolity #ElectionNews #VoterList #ElectoralRoll #ElectionCommissionOfIndia #UPSC #UPSC2026 #UPSCPreparation #UPSCCurrentAffairs #UPSCPolity #StatePCS #SSC #Judiciary #PoliticalScience #NoMapping #LogicalDiscrepancy #ElectoralRoll #VoterVerification #RightToVote #DelhiElection #Democracy
