Allegretto No.5 Op.50 by Mauro Giuliani - Grade 3 Repertoire for Classical Guitar

I really love this little piece, when played well it can sound like a conversation between two voices. The challenges here are slurs, making sure you sustain full durations (like the syncopated ones in m. 11) and executing the extensions in mm. 3 and 6. I have included these extensions so that the notes could be played on the same string. There are two reasons for this: 1. So that you can keep the slurs in the passage and 2. To maintain the tone of notes on the same string. That is what you call choosing a fingering for a musical purpose rather than a technical one. It’s worth it!
