This is a preview of Omarchy 4.5 from its first release candidate (4.5.0 RC1). The release candidate installs five new apps, with nothing extra to add. We give each one a real job: a short slide deck in Hype, a PDF form filled out and signed in Signed, a large folder found and moved to the trash in Disktree, a webcam recording trimmed in Monologue, and a second computer's desktop opened in a window with Gliff. What the video shows: Hype: a presentation app where the whole deck is one Markdown file. Each slide is text in the editor with a live preview above it. We type a new slide, add a photo with the Media button, and switch the deck from the Tokyo Night theme to Catppuccin; the drawings change color at once because they use the theme's colors. Shift F5 presents full screen, and Hype exports the deck as a PDF or a PowerPoint file. Signed: fills out and signs PDF forms. T places a text box at the pointer and D puts today's date there. The signature starts as a photo of ink on paper; Signed cuts the ink out, with a Paper threshold slider, and keeps it for the next form. Save signed copy writes a new PDF beside the original. Disktree: draws your home folder as colored blocks, where a bigger block uses more space and the color marks the kind of file. We mark a folder of old video exports (almost seven gigabytes), check the review screen, and move it to the trash. Space is freed only when you empty the trash. Monologue: records your webcam, with an editor built in. Space starts, pauses and resumes a take; Enter stops it and opens the editor. A double-click on the filmstrip splits the clip, the handles trim it, and Save writes an MP4 without the cut parts. The camera feed in the video is a sample clip standing in for a webcam. Gliff: shows another computer's desktop in a window, over SSH. Both computers need Hyprland. One terminal command opens a private screen on the other computer, sized to the window. Every key reaches the other computer, shortcuts included, and the clipboard works both ways. Each connection gets its own tab. Wrapping up: Signed replaces Xournal++ for filling out and signing PDF forms, and Disktree replaces the Disk Usage terminal tool. Hype, Monologue, and Gliff are new. How to try the release candidate Press Super Space to open the Omarchy menu, then pick Update, then Channel, then RC. This switches your packages to the release candidate and runs the full update. The developers say to expect bugs, and that some things may break outright, so use a spare machine or keep a backup you can restore. This is a release candidate, so the apps may change before the final 4.5 release. Full guide with every command and step: https://www.starryhope.com/linux/omar...
