Drive-In Night 🎃 Cozy 60s Halloween Ambience & Lofi, an old monster movie under the stars

Halloween, 1961. The cars are parked in rows under the stars, the snack bar is glowing, and the double feature has just started. Out in the country, an old black-and-white monster movie plays on the big screen: the thing in the bog rises, the town runs, and the lot watches from their tailgates. Not scary, just cozy: lofi with a 50s and 60s twist (reverb surf guitar, combo organ, vibraphone and brushes), crickets, gravel and the odd screen door, for studying, reading or a nostalgic October night. Felicia, our black cat, has the best seat in the house, on the roof of the cream sedan. What happens in this hour, and how often: a breeze through the corn and the pennants (all the time) someone walks to the snack bar, or back with popcorn (about every 3 minutes) the usher walks the rows with his flashlight (about every 4 minutes) a late car rolls in with its headlights on (about every 6 minutes) the movie's big scare (a few times an hour) ??? (only about 5 times in the hour; tell us when you see it) Tracklist: 00:00 Drive-In Night 02:51 Speaker on the Window 05:46 Intermission Clock 08:38 Black and White Monster 11:29 Back Row Sweethearts 14:22 Snack Bar Glow 17:15 Fog on the Lot 20:07 Thing in the Reeds 23:00 Cherry Cola Moon 25:52 Projector Beam 28:41 Headlights Off 31:32 Usher's Flashlight 34:24 Tailfins and Stars 37:17 Double Feature 40:09 Monster Matinee 43:02 Popcorn Bucket 45:54 Ticket Booth Lantern 48:46 The Last Reel 51:37 Credits Roll 54:30 Taillights Home 57:17 Second Feature 1:00:01 Popcorn Under the Stars Sound effects: our own synthesis plus CC0 and public-domain field recordings. #HalloweenAmbience #CozyHalloween #RetroHalloween
