Category: Saltwater Offshore Baitfish Pattern
Fly Name: Baby Dorado
Difficulty: Advance
YouTube Description: The Baby Dorado is a juvenile version of the Mahi Mahi baitfish that thrives in the temperate, tropical and sub tropical waters world wide it’s a sought-after prey fish for many predatory fish, especially Tuna and Marlin in open water
These patterns range from sizes 10/0 to 2/0 on saltwater hooks. The same pattern is also tied in freshwater versions to mimic different baitfish, parrs and smolts on sizes 2/0 to size 8. For this fly I prefer a short shank, wide gap and heavy wire hook. That type of hook acts as a keel to keep the fly upright so it swims naturally.
