Sultanpur Lodhi a town in Kapurthala district of Punjab has a very rich & Interesting history. This small town where Guru Nanak lived for 14 years was once upon a time a famous Buddhist centre where Emperor Ashoka the great built a 200ft high stoopa. The famous Chinese travellor Heiun Tsang or Ziang Zang also visited it. Its 700 year old historic gate has recently caved in. This video tells the hitherto unknown facts of this town which was on the famous GT Rd. from Delhi to Lahore. Part one covers history prior to Guru Nanak. The second part will cover Sikh and Hindu monuments here.
