Painting Glowing Roses Pastel Tutorial

In this pastel tutorial I'm showing how to capture the light in the petals of the roses, how to make them look realistic enough but free and expressive. Let's explore the palette of reds and oranges in these beautiful flowers and see how light makes those colors glow. The demo is painting on a piece of light brown Pastelmat paper. It's a smoother surface than many other abrasive paper for pastels, which allows for more crisp marks and detail if that's your style.
