The new double-line railway bridge over the Ganges River in Mokama, Bihar, is expected to increase train and freight capacity. Built parallel to the old Rajendra Bridge, this modern bridge will help reduce traffic congestion on the Mokama-Barauni section and strengthen rail connectivity between North and South Bihar. But the bridge's importance is not limited to Bihar. It is also crucial for the Delhi-Howrah main rail route and for connectivity with Northeast India. A better rail network is strategically important for military movement, fuel supply, and freight operations.
