From freshly harvested potatoes to a crackling wood fire, follow a mother and son through a day of village life in Bamiyan, Afghanistan. Their journey begins among green potato plants, where they gather the harvest before walking to a rushing river. Along the rocky bank, potatoes are peeled and vegetables are washed, with flowing water and rustling leaves setting the rhythm of the day. Later, beneath the trees, a simple hearth of stacked stones becomes an outdoor kitchen. The mother carefully hollows the potato halves and finely chops chicken by hand, preparing the ingredients for chicken-and-vegetable stuffed potatoes. Nearby, her son helps with everyday tasks as the fire warms the cooking pot. This first part follows the journey from the garden to the frying pan. In Part 2, the prepared filling goes into the potatoes, and the cooking continues over the wood fire. Filmed in 4K with natural sounds and no narration, this documentary brings you closer to family life, traditional food preparation, and the quiet moments between each task. 🌿 CHAPTERS 00:00 Mountain Village, River & Nature 02:00 Leaving Home for the Potato Field 03:20 Harvesting Fresh Potatoes 04:35 Walking to the River 05:00 Washing Vegetables by the River 07:15 Preparing the Outdoor Kitchen 08:13 Building the Wood Fire 10:12 Hoe, Clay Jug & Everyday Village Life 11:50 Hollowing the Potatoes 13:15 Finely Chopping Chicken by Hand 14:50 Fetching Water from the Stream 19:25 Preparing the Oil & Vegetables 20:00 Frying the Potato Halves 21:00 To Be Continued — Part 2 If you enjoy village life, outdoor cooking, and the sounds of nature, subscribe to VILLAGE LIFE SILK ROAD and join us for the next part of this mother and son’s story. 📩 Business inquiries: VillageLife.SilkRoad@gmail.com #AfghanVillageLife #OutdoorCooking #Bamiyan
