In this lesson, we focus on Section 1.7: Functions. We will learn what a function is and how a function describes a relationship in which each input has exactly one output. Students will practice identifying functions using equations, tables, graphs, and mapping diagrams and learn how to determine the domain and range of a relation. Throughout the lesson, we will connect different representations of functions and practice deciding whether a given relation represents a function. We will also introduce important function vocabulary and work through examples to help students build a strong foundation for the function concepts we will use throughout Algebra I.
