Victoria Line: Brixton to Blackhorse Road

In this video, we almost make a full journey on a London Underground 2009 Stock Victoria Line train from the southern terminus at Brixton to Blackhorse Road, one stop short of the northern terminus at Walthamstow Central. Named after Victoria Station (which was named after Queen Victoria), the line opened in 1968 and is one of two London Underground lines to run entirely in tunnels, the other being the Waterloo & City Line. The Victoria Line's original purpose was to relieve congestion on the existing lines, first connecting Walthamstow Central with Highbury & Islington before eventually being extended to Brixton. The line also serves several busy stations including King's Cross St Pancras, Green Park, Euston and Victoria. With London's population increase, the line has become more congested. If/when Crossrail 2 gets built, the new railway would relieve congestion somewhat on the Victoria Line.
