Who should get tested 4:49 రీక్యాప్: Quick recap 5:04 Wrap-up ✅ Key points • Kidneys filter the blood, remove waste in urine, balance water and salt, help control BP, make a hormone for red blood cells and support bone health. • Chronic kidney disease is often silent; worldwide roughly one in ten adults may have it. • Diabetes and high blood pressure are the two biggest causes. Other risks: overweight, smoking, family history, age over 60, heart disease, repeated kidney stones and long-term painkiller use. • Painkillers like ibuprofen and diclofenac, used for long periods without a doctor's advice, and unknown herbal powders can harm the kidneys. • Symptoms may include tiredness, puffy eyes in the morning, swelling of feet and legs, passing urine often at night and foamy urine. • See a doctor urgently for very little urine, blood in urine, severe swelling, breathlessness, persistent vomiting or confusion. • Simple tests: urine albumin (urine protein), blood creatinine with eGFR, BP check, and ultrasound if needed. People with diabetes or BP should test at least once a year. • Drink enough water (pale yellow urine), but people with kidney failure or heart problems should follow their doctor's fluid limit. • Keep salt under 5 g a day (less than one teaspoon); pickles, papad, chips and packaged foods are very salty. • Eat fresh vegetables, fruits, millets, moderate dal and home food with less oil. People with kidney disease may need potassium and phosphorus limits from their doctor or dietitian. • Normal creatinine does not always mean healthy kidneys; early damage may show only in the urine protein test. 💬 మీకు ఏవైనా సందేహాలు ఉంటే కామెంట్ లో అడగండి. 👍 Like, share and subscribe to Telugu Health Veda for more health videos in Telugu. ⚠️ Disclaimer: This video is for general health awareness only and is not a substitute for medical advice.
