ELECTRIC DREAMS, ELECTRIC SIGHS (John McLaughlin)
Riccardo Misto: electric guitars

Epiphone Sheraton
Epiphone Emperor Regent
Fender Stratocaster
Epiphone G 1275 6/12 string
Gibson ES347 – Roland Synth
Steinberger custom
Ibanez AH 10
Electric Dreams is the sixth solo album by British jazz guitarist John McLaughlin and his "One Truth Band", released in 1979.
From this album the song “Electric dreams, electric sighs”, based on one of the guitarist's most beautiful and articulated arpeggios. In the last section, a synthesis of the solo theme is added, with the synth guitar and other electric guitars. In the end, the reverse version of the basic arpeggio, from which an equally beautiful and coherent melodic line is born. At this link the tablature of the "reverse" arpeggio:

As background of the video the evocative images of different northern lights.
Sometimes, during the appearance of an aurora, sounds that resemble hissing can be heard. These are electrophonic sounds, the origin of which is not yet clear: it is believed that they are due to perturbations of the local earth's magnetic field, caused by an increased ionization of the atmosphere above.
The polar auroras are also often accompanied by radio emissions in the VLF band, known as "aural chorus". Since the frequencies of these signals are of the order of kilohertz, therefore they are audio frequencies, they can be converted into audio by using a suitable receiver. The resulting sound resembles a choir of birds, hence the name given to this type of emissions. A short audio track introduces and concludes the video.

Epiphone Sheraton
