In this video, I take on an epic mountain bike ride through lush rainforest landscapes, passing countless waterfalls and ending at the breathtaking Pailón del Diablo. Baños is an adrenaline-packed town located at the foot of the impressive Tungurahua Volcano, where you can do everything from rafting to ziplining — but today, it’s all about the bike ride. The Ruta de las Cascadas takes you along a stunning road filled with waterfalls, steep green mountains, and tropical scenery. Some falls have names like Agoyán and El Silencio… but after a while, you simply lose track — there are just too many! And then comes one of the most unexpected moments of the day… a sketchy-looking cable car crossing a deep canyon, powered by what seems to be an old diesel engine (yes, really 😅). Halfway across, it suddenly stops — “for photos,” of course. Heart rate: elevated. But nothing prepares you for the grand finale: Pailón del Diablo. After crawling through narrow tunnels and squeezing through rock passages, you end up right next to — and even behind — one of the most powerful waterfalls in Ecuador. You will get soaked… and you won’t even care. This was, without a doubt, one of the absolute highlights of my trip. 🎥 New travel videos every Friday, All footage captured with iPhone 17 Pro Max, action scenes filmed with GoPro Hero13.
