I Just Destroyed the World

Over the past few months, I have posted several jazz and yacht rock reels on my social media. Even though I love those genres dearly, my page needs some more traditional country. Today, I decided to create a reel that pays tribute to a couple of my favorite steel guitar masters, Buddy Emmons and Jimmy Day. These two greats developed a musical vocabulary that steel players use frequently still to this day. The steel guitar would not be in the position it is in today without the brilliance and innovation of these two men. Here’s an old Ray Price shuffle I enjoy playing instrumentally, “I Just Destroyed the World I’m Living In.” Buddy and Jimmy played on numerous Ray Price hits, so I thought it would be appropriate to feature a Price song. #pedalsteelguitar #pedalsteelguitars #pedalsteel #countrymusic #rayprice
