Tori no Uta - AIR OP (Animenz arr.) [Piano]

AIR is definitely an (early) masterpiece, which commenced Kyoto Animation's legend. Although this Anime is not popular at this day and it's occasionally overshadowed by CLANNAD, I still hope that more people watch it. This arrangement, the first part of Animenz's Key Anime Piano Suite, is one of the most challenging ones I've been recently playing. 1:04: B minor to G# minor. The left hand accompaniment had many jumps, with some being greater than two octaves. It would be easier if some notes were played by the right thumb. 1:34: G# minor to Db major. That's the most wonderful phrases in the original song, while it's also technically demanding in the piano arrangement. In the key of Db major, ii, iii, IV chords were repeated (Gb maj7, Fm7, Ebm7), but it never returned to the tonic chord. And it's rather difficult to balance the left hand rhythm and the right hand scales. 2:06: Back to B minor. I love how Animenz arranged the arpeggios, which gave the feeling that I was flying. 2:43: Excellent polyphony with four voices: Intro (A B D C# ---- A B D E ---- A B D A -- G F# ...), a motif in the song (D C# B E -- D -- C# played 15 times), rhythmic patterns, and finally, roots that stepped upwards (G--A--B--B--G--A--B). Tenths were inevitable regardless of what fingering I used.
