How to Fix Chevrolet Cruze Chevy Orlando Damaged Button Remote Flip Key Shell Full Replacement Steps

If you are a Chevrolet owner and suffered the same fate of having broken or disintegrated rubber buttons on the remote key FOB, but your key FOB remote transponder is still working, you can usually replace just the key shell. Simply transfer the original circuit board, transponder, key blade into a new key shell housing. This allows you to keep your existing remote and key blade and generally avoids the need to program a new one and cutting a new key. Note Below: 1) the Chevy stock key shell is pressed together with superglue without any screw. 2) after-market key shell is held together with a screw beneath the bow-tie emblem on its back cover. 3) if you are changing from the original key shell to an after-market key shell, you need to remove the tiny pin that holds the key blade onto its holder and swap the blade over to the new blade holder. Otherwise, the key blade will not latch when you fold or flip close the key. 4) however, if you're changing from an after-market key shell to another after-market key shell, you can swap the entire key blade and its holder over to the new key shell. No removal of the tiny pin or swapping of the key blade is required in this case.
