Weekdays at Grandma's House: Harvesting & Boiling Buttered Corn

My day at grandmother's house started with a big and very pleasant chore 🏡. I grabbed a large wicker basket and headed out to the garden to harvest absolutely all the corn that had ripened 🌽. There was plenty of work to do, but what a joy it is to gather your very own, home-grown harvest! ✨ When the full basket was already sitting in the yard, I set to work husking it. While cleaning the cobs, only one thought kept spinning in my head — how much I wanted that exact hot corn with salt and butter! 🧈 So I didn't think twice: I found an old cast-iron pot (my favorite little bucket), picked the best cobs for myself, and took safety very seriously 🔥. I placed two bricks, but before that, I dug the soil underneath them a bit so the fire wouldn't spread to the dry grass. I chopped some thin twigs and boards so the fire would flare up quickly, and the process began! 🪵 While the corn was boiling and simmering over the fire, I didn't sit idle. I quickly cleaned up all the husks, sorted the corn, and carried it into the shed 🛖. Part of it will definitely go for seeds for next year 🌱, and I'll share some with the neighbors, because this beauty is way too much for just me! 🤝 Time by the campfire flew by unnoticed ⏳. While waiting for the treat, I managed to bustle around the homestead, tidied up the yard, inspected grandmother's garden beds 🌿, and, of course, didn't forget our loyal four-legged guard 🐕 — I treated the dog to a delicious bone so he wouldn't get bored waiting either. ❤️ This video is about true, sincere rural life, the scent of smoke, the crackle of firewood, and the incredible taste of childhood 🍂.
