Lucky Luciano: The Mafia Blueprint That Changed Organized Crime

Lucky Luciano rose from poverty in Sicily and New York’s Lower East Side to become one of the most influential figures in American organized crime. This documentary follows Salvatore Lucania’s journey from an immigrant childhood to the creation of a new Mafia structure built around organization, alliances, territory and profit. From the Castellammarese War and the deaths of Joe Masseria and Salvatore Maranzano to the creation of the Commission, Luciano transformed the way organized crime operated in America. The story also follows his prosecution by Thomas E. Dewey, his imprisonment, his wartime connections, the Havana Conference, his return to Italy, and the final years of his life. Was Lucky Luciano simply a gangster, or did he help create a blueprint for modern organized crime? This is the story of power, ambition, violence, business and the system Lucky Luciano helped shape. 00:00 — Lucky Luciano: The Rise of Salvatore Lucania 01:10 — Lucky Luciano’s Early Life in New York 02:04 — How Lucky Luciano Entered the Mafia 03:29 — The Castellammarese War: Mafia Power Struggle 04:18 — Joe Masseria and the Rise of Lucky Luciano 05:00 — Salvatore Maranzano and the Mafia’s New Order 06:32 — Lucky Luciano Creates the Mafia Commission 07:20 — How the American Mafia Became a Business 08:12 — The Birth of the Modern Mafia Syndicate 09:48 — Lucky Luciano’s American Mafia Empire 10:32 — Thomas Dewey vs. Lucky Luciano 11:34 — Lucky Luciano’s Trial and Conviction 12:09 — Lucky Luciano in Prison: Dannemora 13:00 — World War II, the Mafia and Lucky Luciano 14:37 — Lucky Luciano and the Havana Conference 15:23 — The Fall of Lucky Luciano’s Power 16:01 — Lucky Luciano’s Final Years and Death 16:46 — Lucky Luciano’s Legacy and the Modern Mafia 17:19 — Lucky Luciano: Mafia Boss or Master Organizer? #LuckyLuciano #Mafia #OrganizedCrime #AmericanHistory #TrueCrime
