Tianmu Lake's beauty keeps shrinking in the rearview mirror.
Last episode, I saw that lake cradled by mountains in Liyang — emerald in sunlight, misty in rain — a gentle opening for this stretch of the road. But wheels never linger long over a beautiful view. This episode, I keep heading north. Destination: Danyang.
Most people who hear the name Danyang for the first time will pause for a second. But mention its other business card and it clicks instantly — roughly one in every three pairs of glasses in China comes from here. A small county-level city that turned "eyeglasses" into a name recognized around the world. So this stretch, I've given myself a little side mission: once I reach Danyang, I have to walk through the eyeglass market — and pick out a pair of shades, for me and for all of you, officially designated "for driving across China."
This stretch follows the same rules — first-person POV, full journey recording, 4K quality. No edited-out awkwardness, no exaggerated highlights. Tank full, navigation set, Tianmu Lake's ripples fading in the rearview mirror — next stop, the eyeglass capital.
The wind is salty, the roads are bumpy, and the people are real. From Liyang to Danyang — we're heading out.
