A night train. A salt desert. Eight stations of memory. What the Desert Leaves is the debut concept album from Cobalt Hymn — eight original tracks following a man who crosses a salt desert on a night train. Every station opens a memory: the lights he left on, the lies on the timetable, the name he never gave, the letter he never sent. The journey ends at dawn, when the letter he wrote to himself is finally read. Built on the warm, analog foundation of Mellotron strings, Hammond organ and vintage synthesizers, with long, singing guitar solos, tenor sax, slide guitar, 12-string, flute, cello, pipe organ, tubular bells and choir. Each track has its own arrangement, with sudden stops, drum fills and extended keyboard and guitar solos. An intimate, expressive male lead vocal opens into fuller choruses with restrained backing harmonies. If you love psychedelic progressive rock in the tradition of Pink Floyd, with narrative weight and vintage analog warmth, this is a journey worth taking in full. Put on your headphones. Let the night train carry you to the morning. 🎧 Best experienced with headphones 🔔 Subscribe to Black Iron Records for new releases every week 🎧 DOWNLOAD FULL ALBUM HI-FI: https://payhip.com/b/dnjV0 📖 FREE Lyrics Booklet (PDF) — all eight songs, complete lyrics: https://payhip.com/b/E25pN ☕ Buy me a coffee: ko-fi.com/blackironrecords ► TRACKLIST SIDE A [00:07] Departures Board [04:35] Timetable of Small Lies [09:14] The Man in the Glass [13:13] The Conductor Knew My Name SIDE B [18:23] A Mile of Nothing [22:08] The Station With No Name [26:53] The Envelope [30:41] What the Desert Leaves ───────────────────── 🛡️ SUPPORT BLACK IRON RECORDS 🎧 FULL CATALOG: https://payhip.com/BlackIronRecords 📖 THE BLACK IRON AUDIOPHILE'S GUIDE — Vol. 1: The Turntable For the listener who loves the music, not just the gear. 👉 https://payhip.com/b/Tf4V3 Every purchase and every cup of coffee keeps these analog journeys alive.
