Pune to Udupi Family Road Trip – Day 3 🚗🙏🌊 | Mahindra XUV 7XO Day 3 of our Pune to Udupi family road trip takes us deeper into coastal Karnataka as we explore some beautiful temples around Udupi and finish the day with a peaceful evening at Malpe Sea Walk. After our Gokarna adventures and the Day 2 journey through Yana Caves, Murudeshwara and Maravanthe Beach, Day 3 was a completely different experience — temples, devotion, culture and finally the Arabian Sea at sunset. 📍 PLACES WE VISITED 🙏 Bappanadu Shri Durga Parameshwari Temple, Mulki 🛕 Shri Venkataramana Temple, Udupi 🙏 Udupi Shri Krishna Matha 🌊 Malpe Beach & Sea Walk We travelled in our Mahindra XUV 7XO as a family and continued our journey through the beautiful coastal roads of Karnataka. ⸻ 🛕 1. BAPPANADU SHRI DURGA PARAMESHWARI TEMPLE Our first stop was the famous Bappanadu Shri Durga Parameshwari Temple at Mulki, located close to NH66. The Karnataka government’s HRCE temple information lists the temple’s darshan/opening schedule as: Morning: 5:30 AM – 1:30 PM Evening: 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM So, if you’re planning a visit, it’s important to keep the afternoon closure in mind. Temple etiquette: As with other temples in the region, visitors should dress respectfully and follow the temple’s instructions regarding footwear, photography and access to worship areas. ⸻ 🛕 2. SHRI VENKATARAMANA TEMPLE, UDUPI Next, we visited Shri Venkataramana Temple in the Doddangudde/Karamballi area of Udupi. Current listings indicate darshan timings of approximately: Morning: 6:30 AM – 12:30 PM Evening: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM The temple is known for its peaceful atmosphere and beautifully carved architectural details, including distinctive stone pillars. Tip: Temple schedules can change on festival days, so it is worth confirming locally before making a dedicated trip. ⸻ 🙏 3. UDUPI SHRI KRISHNA MATHA Then came one of the highlights of our Udupi visit — Udupi Shri Krishna Matha. The official Shri Krishna Matha website currently lists: Morning Darshan: 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM Evening Darshan: 3:30 PM – 9:00 PM One of the most distinctive features here is the Navagraha Kindi, the silver-plated window with nine openings through which devotees traditionally have darshan of Lord Krishna. The Matha is also an important centre of the Dvaita tradition associated with Sri Madhvacharya. The official site also lists Anna Dasoha from 11:30 AM onwards in the afternoon and 7:30 PM onwards at night. ⸻ 🌊 4. MALPE BEACH & SEA WALK And finally, we ended the day by the Arabian Sea at Malpe Beach. The Malpe Sea Walk gives beautiful open views of the Arabian Sea and is particularly enjoyable during the evening and around sunset. Incredible India also highlights the Sea Walk as a place for relaxed walks and ocean views. Current map information lists Malpe Beach as open 24 hours, while the Sea Walk has separate operating hours; the Sea Walk Park listing currently shows closing around 8:30 PM. Because these timings can change seasonally or operationally, check locally on the day rather than relying solely on online timings.
