Meet Greta McMurphy! 🤸‍♀️ In this episode of The Championship Corner Podcast, Ryan Romano sits down with Greta McMurphy to talk about the person behind the gymnast—her competitive mindset, incredible work ethic, positivity, college recruiting journey, future goals, and the role faith plays in her life. Greta might be known by others as “bubbly” and “sunshine,” but when it’s time to compete, another side comes out. She hates losing, loves working hard, and is constantly looking for ways to get better—even if that means wanting to keep going when practice is supposed to be over. Greta opens up about one of the biggest challenges she has faced as a gymnast: caring so much about the outcome that she sometimes puts too much pressure on herself. She shares how she has worked to overcome that pressure, compete more freely, and what it meant to battle through an ankle injury and ultimately compete at Nationals. We also dive into Greta’s college gymnastics recruiting journey and what she’s looking for in her future program. For Greta, the right fit goes far beyond making a lineup. She wants great team energy, teammates who genuinely support one another, and coaches who care about her as a person—not just what she can contribute as a gymnast. Academics will also play a huge role in her decision. Greta talks about her goal of pursuing pre-med and potentially becoming a dermatologist, as well as finding a program that will support her ambitions inside and outside the gym.
