Determining the Area of a Circle using Integral Calculus (Cartesian Coordinates)

In this video, a cartesian surface integral is performed over a circle to prove its area is pi * R^2. This type of exercise is useful as many engineering quantities are more conveniently integrated over cartesian coordinates (e.g. vs. polar coordinates) and therefore being able to perform relatively complex integrals in cartesian space is helpful.
