Dash's assistants were fans of The Black Keys' music and connected the band and the hip-hop world for this unique project. Despite Dash's claims that he "broke" The Black Keys, the duo clarified that their involvement in the project was more for their benefit creatively rather than financially or in terms of recognition. This venture into a new genre taught them new skills and opened more doors for them musically. The experience ultimately influenced their approach to their next album, "Brothers," which made its debut at number three on the Billboard 200. They remarked that the success of the album was a critical turning point in their career, propelling them from small local venues to the possibility of arena shows.
