Today's Project: Black Locust & Charcoal Epoxy Resin Board

Welcome back to Collier's Wood Shop! Today's project takes a beautiful piece of Black Locust hardwood and charcoal epoxy resin through the finishing process. Black Locust is one of our toughest native hardwoods. It's extremely durable, naturally resistant to decay, and can be a challenge to work with. But the results are worth the effort! Follow along as we take this board from rough to finished: • Flattening the board with our power sander • Squaring the edges on the table saw • Rounding the edges with the router • Sanding through progressively finer grits • Buffing the epoxy to a mirror-like finish • Applying the final oil finish to bring out the natural beauty of the wood At Collier's Wood Shop, these aren't projects built just for YouTube.
