How Sgt. Slaughter Went from MAIN EVENT HEEL to FORGOTTEN MIDCARD

Sgt. Slaughter went from one of the WWF’s biggest villains, a world champion, and a WrestleMania main-eventer to a forgotten midcard act in a surprisingly short period of time. At the height of his controversial 1990–91 heel run, Slaughter was positioned opposite Hulk Hogan in one of the company’s biggest storylines and captured the WWF Championship. But in an era filled with names like The Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, The Undertaker, and Roddy Piper, his place near the top of the card disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived. In this video, we look back at Sgt. Slaughter’s rise to the main event, his rivalry with Hulk Hogan, the storyline that made him one of wrestling’s most hated heels, his sudden babyface turn alongside Jim Duggan, and how a former world champion quickly found himself far away from the top of the WWF.
