October 4, 2026 Joshua 1:1-9 - Trusting God for the Next Chapter Main Point: God’s people move forward with courage because His presence never changes. Joshua 1:1-2 The foundation of the book of Joshua is that he is not the center character. God is. God’s servants change; God’s mission continues. Joshua 1:3-4 Joshua wasn’t stepping into a new plan. Hew as walking into God’s covenant faithfulness. God’s promises are certain - even before we can see the outcome. Joshua 1:5-6 Biblical courage is not confidence in my ability. It is confidence in God’s sufficiency. Don’t interpret God’s faithfulness through your circumstances. Interpret your circumstances through what you know about God. Joshua 1:7-8 God’s Word should shape our: Mouth ⟶ Mind ⟶ Life Speak it ⟶ Meditate on it ⟶ Obey it Joshua 1:9 God’s gives something greater than instances. He gives His presence. Behind us: God’s Faithfulness Before us: God’s Promise Beside us: God’s Presence Within us: God’s Word Courage is moving forward in obedience because we trust the God who goes with us.
