🐾 Just off the coast of Tomonoura—a historic port town in Hiroshima with over a thousand years of history—there lies a small island where time seems to move a little more gently. On this island, cats live naturally alongside people, woven quietly into the rhythm of everyday life. According to a local resident, there may be around 70 to 80 cats here. Especially near the port, the cats are friendly and relaxed—some would even walk along beside me as I strolled through the island. The hotel I stayed at faced a quiet, nearly private beach. Meals featured the morning’s catch, prepared by the owner's father, who is also a fisherman. Every dish, made with care and the freshest local seafood, offered a taste you could only experience in a place like this.
