There is an invitation with your name on it. Not to a meeting, not to a duty, but to a feast. A reflection and a prayer on this Sunday's Gospel, the wedding feast (Matthew 22:1-14). The king sends for his guests, and they pay no attention: one goes off to his farm, another to his business. They did not say, we hate the king. They said, not today. So the king sends his servants out to the roads to invite everyone they find, bad and good alike. At every Mass the priest says, "Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb." That is this invitation. But one guest came to the feast without a wedding garment. Saint Augustine said the garment is love, from a pure heart, and Saint Paul says that all who were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. If your garment is stained or torn, or you have been away from Mass for a long time, the King has been sending for you the whole time. The video gives three ways to come ready, and ends with a prayer and two verses from Scripture. A daily reflection, with a prayer to say together. Subscribe and pray with us again. Verses: Matthew 22:1-14, Isaiah 25:6-8, Revelation 19:9 (Apocalypse 19:9), Galatians 3:27. Scripture verses are given in our own plain-English wording. #YouAreInvited #CatholicPrayer #PrayWithUs
