Kristoffer Helle - John Norum - Back on the Streets - Bass

This is a song from John Norum's first solo album released the year after he left Europe. The song is a Vinnie Vincent Invasion cover and the singer, Göran Edman auditioned to be the singer in Vinnie Vincent Invasion and brought this song to Norum. From what I heard Vinnie wanted him to be the singer but the label wanted an American singer. Edman would later join Yngwie´s band. The connection to Yngwie does not stop there when it comes to this song. The bass player is Marcel Jacob that many consider as the original Rising Force bass player. He co-wrote many of the songs on this album and you can hear how important he was to this album, Total Control. He would later form the band Talisman that also featured former Yngwie singer Jeff Scott Soto. Marcel was a brilliant bass player and was not just a shred player. He could really lay down some heavy grooves, like this song. Sadly marcel passed away in 2009. I chose this version of the song mainly just because he is the bass player. I tried to play as much as him as possible to honor the original part cause it really serves the song.
